£70,000.00-£75,000.00 per year

We're excited to be partnering with an award-winning national business based in York to appoint a Head of Payroll to take ownership of a large, multi-entity payroll function during an exciting phase of growth.

This role will lead the ongoing development of the payroll operation as the company, overseeing the delivery of accurate, efficient payroll services while also shaping the long-term strategy of the function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading and developing a large, establish payroll team

• Driving system implementation of the Dayforce platform

• Act as the subject matter expect for the system, working closely with HR, Finance, IT and external implementation partners

• Manage the implementation of associated modules

• Develop and deliver testing strategies

• Drive project governance and delivery - managing timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement throughout the implementation lifecycle

• Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the payroll function

• Work with senior stakeholders to develop the long-term payroll systems roadmap

• Ensure the payroll function remains compliant, scalable, and aligned with business growth.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience leading large, complex payroll functions

• Significant experience implementing payroll systems

• Experience delivering payroll transformation or change programmes

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop payroll teams

• Experience managing complex payroll projects

• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements

• Dayforce Payroll experience is highly desirable

• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational delivery

• Strong stakeholder management sills
